Amazing Yards, an initiative of Sahachari Foundation Events was dedicated to the spirit and artistry of ‘kaarigars’ with a hand-picked selection of fabrics from the infinite variety of Indian textile tradition. 20 revivalists, involved with keeping alive textile traditions from across the country, showcased specially-designed yardage, dress materials, saris, dupattas and some made-ups.

As a curtain-raiser to the Amazing Yards exhibition, Meera & Muzaffar Ali, champions of the textile traditions of Kotwara, presented ‘Maashra’ an enthralling couture experience. The show was for invitees only. The designer couple has taken the technique of chikan and zardozi embroidery to new heights with innovative textures and silhouettes. In their ongoing quest for beauty, Meera & Muzaffar Ali have been inspired by Sufi poets. The exquisite collection strongly evoked Sufi imagery and created a heady mix of old-world charm, innovation & modernity. Stunning pieces of hand-crafted jadau jewellery from The Gem Palace, Jaipur, were used to accessorize with the outfits.In support of the cause, cine-star Shabana Azmi walked the ramp in the grand finale.

The event raised funds for deserving NGOs, amongst which is Nanhi Kali, an NGO that educates vulnerable, marginalised children.
