The third edition of Design One Delhi was announced at a pre-event high-tea on 18th February at The Lodhi (former Aman). Lok Sabha MP Srimant Yashodhara Raje Scindia was the chief guest. On behalf of Sahachari Foundation, All Cargo Ltd. donated a car to Sakha Cabs for Women. Designers Shivan and Narresh donated a specially – designed mastectomy blouse for breast cancer victims to the Women’s Cancer Initiative – Tata Memorial Hospital, represented by Ms Sunita Kohli. The car keys and the mastectomy blouse were handed over by Smt.Yashodhara Raje Scindia. Speaking on the occasion,she said, “It delights me to see organizations such as the Sahachari Foundation actively work towards making a change, through the causes they support. Given the current national scenario, I believe any step in the direction of women’s safety and upliftment is an important one”.
The Design One exhibition was held on 27th and 28th February in the stunning outdoor ambience of The Lodhi lawns. Chief guest Sridevi was driven to the venue in a Sakha cab, earlier donated by Sahachari Foundation. She spent over two and a half hours visiting stalls, talking to exhibitors and doing media interviews, including a Walk the Talk with Shekhar Gupta.
Spread over 50 stalls, the exhibition showcased creations of established as well as upcoming designers. The offering was further enhanced by jewellery from main sponsor Kothari Fine Jewels as well as DiA.
Design One attracted nearly 6,500 visitors over two days, consisting of society ladies, boutique shoppers and members of the diplomatic community, resulting in good sales and substantial exposure for the participants.
Design One received excellent coverage in all leading publications and electronic media.
